Caps off to Port Jefferson!
Did you know that all caps are not recyclable?
The Friends of the Port Jefferson Free Library are teaming up with Arame Salon & Spa in Port Jefferson to Participate in a special recycle program. We will be accepting ONLY #5 bottle caps at the Green Fest, from 1pm - 6pm. Drop off your CLEAN #5 Caps in the collection bins at the Friends and Arame Salon tables.
What are #5 Caps?
Caps that are currently not recycled in Brookhaven are from the following:
• Shampoo bottles
• Beverage bottles (spring water bottles)
• Milk containers
• Detergent
• Pharmaceutical
This will be an ongoing for the Village Community. The Freinds Used Book/ Teen Department and the Main Library will be stations for the #5 caps. We will bring them to the recycle drop off unit where the caps will them be remanufactured into future product packaging. Help us keep the Port Jefferson Village to go green!
